In February, the RWJ University Hospital Foundation received an unexpected visit from a Rutgers student carrying a bright, handmade poster and an envelope full of cash. Divya Patibandla wanted to do something special for pediatric patients at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital. Knowing how much kids love pizza, she decided that a little cheese and pepperoni would be the key to her fundraising success. Divya orchestrated a one-woman pizza crawl in New Brunswick, collecting donations for every slice she ate. What a fun way to bring a little cheer back to our patients! We commend Divya both for her generosity and her initiative, and we hope to see more of her in the future.
