Information On and Types of Unrestricted Funds: The Fund for Excellence Because this is an unrestricted fund, Fund for Excellence gifts allow the Foundation Board of Trustees to work directly with the Hospital administration and Board of Directors to determine the current area of greatest need for support. History of Caring Fund/Unrestricted This is the Foundation's endowment fund. The interest earned on the endowment supports the Foundation's administrative expenses. In this way, 100% of all gifts directed to the Foundation go to the fund specified by the donor. Gifts of $1,000 and more are recognized by engravings on a sculpture that is installed near the main lobby of the Hospital.
